Day 1: Yangon Arrival, TG 303 0850 (-/L/D)
Meet on arrival at YANGON International Airport and transfer to hotel. The tour start to CHAUK HTAT GYI, a huge reclining Buddha image followed by a photo stop made at KARAWEIK HALL, a royal floating barge. AN extended visit to SHWEDAGON PAGODA, one of the world's most spectacular religious monuments, will conclude the tour of this picturesque Garden City. Day 02 Bagan Full Day (RGN/NYU flight K7 260- 0700/0820 ) (B/L/D)
Bagan: As the capital of the first Myanmar Empire, Bagan is home to many archaeological sites. Filled with mass of 2,500 pagodas and stupas built between the 11th and 13th centuries, and surrounded by the Irrawaddy River, peanut and sesame fields, Bagan is one of the most best Buddhist archaeological sites in the world.
Check out and head to Yangon domestic terminal to catch your early morning flight to Nyaung U (Bagan). Your station guide will pick you up at the airport and take you to visit Nyaung U market - some tourists find the morning market is more fun than the popular Scott market in Yangon. Majority of the market area is occupied by vendors selling local's fresh produces, souvenirs and antiques shops. You can find bronze statues of the ancient ladies of Bagan, old lacquer ware, paintings copied from the original frescoes in the Bagan temple and hand-woven clothes among others. (You'll see local lifestyles and experience)
Next, your sightseeing starts with some of the most historic temples & pagodas. (You may fresh up at hotel and rest up for a while at hotel lobby areas. Early room check-in is subject to availability. If unavailable, check-in time will be at 2pm.)

Manuha pagoda - built by the captive Mon King Manuha in 1067 & one of the oldest temples in Bagan. Inside, there are 3 seated Buddha statues face the front of the building, & in the back there's a huge reclining Buddha. All seem too huge for their enclosures, & their cramped, uncomfortable positions are said to represent the stress & lack of comfort the 'captive king' had to endure.
Thatbaynyu temple - built by King AlaungSithu in A.D 1144 & is the tallest structure in Bagan. There is a rhyme traditionally sung by the people of Bagan, which runs: "Massiveness that is DhammayanGyi, Loftiness that is Thatbyinnyu, Grace that is Ananda."
Ananda pagoda - one of the best-preserved & largest temples built by King Kyansittha in 1105 AD. It is the masterpiece of early style temple architecture.
Dammayangyi temple - built by King Narathu (1167-70), who was also known as Kalagya Min, who murdered his own king father to take over the throne and he built this massive structure. King Narathu oversaw the construction but he never completed the construction because he was assassinated before the completion.
In the evening, off to Myinkaba village to observe local lacquerware workshops and learn how this traditional piece of art is made. After that, enjoy horse cart ride among the villages.
Sunset appreciation over Pyathatgyi - the last great construction of Bagan Dynasty. This double-cave type monument has Indian influence.

Day 3: Bagan Full Day Sightseeing (B/L/D)
Second day, after breakfast, sightseeing for visits to TAYOKEPYAY TEMPLE in Min Nan Thu Village; PHAYA THONE ZU and NANDAMANYA TEMPLES noted for their exquisite murals of 13th century and KYAT KAN CAVE monastery, a famous meditation retreat in Bagan. Lunch will be served at local restaurant.
Continue drive to Mt.Popa which rose from the ground in a massive earthquake in 442 BC. Mt. Popa is famous as the abode of the Nats (Spirit Gods) and for its panoramic view of the local tropical region. On the way back to BAGAN we can visit a toddy palm juice production plant.
In the afternoon, visits to BAGANS unique pagodas, including Nagayon, an elegant and well preserved temple containing many Buddha, the main one which is twice life size and shelters under the hood of a huge serpent. We will also see ABEYADANA PAHTO, of which the primary interest is the fine frescos; and NANPAYA, probably Bagan’s first gu-style shrine. Among others, we also see MINGALAZEDI, the very last of the late period monuments built before the kingdom’s decline.
Shwezigon Pagoda - Shwezigon is considered as Bagan's most significant shrine, 160 feet high and 160 feet wide at the base. It is said that the structure was built to enshrine one of the four replicas of the Buddha’s tooth in Kandy, Sri Lanka. This pagoda inspires faith even today, bringing joy to the hearts of monks and laymen alike as they behold its brilliant golden color. The construction was started by King Anawrahta, but the project was not completed until the rule of King Kyanzittha.
Lastly, head MINGALAZEDI, the very last of the late period monuments built before the kingdom’s decline to capture breathtaking sunset - the place to end your day touring the temples and take in the incredible sunset. Day 04 Bagan – Yangon – (flight K7 261 – 1025/1145) (B/L/D)
Early start by horse-drawn carriage (when available) to YWA HAUNG GYI TEMPLE to see dawn rise over Bagan (option), Return to the hotel for breakfast. or take a free time.
Transfer to airport for return flight to Yangon. Balance of the day at leisure to pursue individual interests. Today's Yangon sightseeing tour includes the old colonial-style city center with the gilded SULE PAGODA, dating back over 2,000 years, BOGYOKE (SCOTT'S) MAEKET with hundreds of stores (closed on Mondays) and a visit of a gems shop Transfer to(Summit Parkview Hotel), Yangon.

Day 5: Yangon - Golden Rock (by Aircorn Coach) (B/L/D)
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at the hotel.
Drive to Golden Rock. Golden Rock - a truly extraordinary natural feature with its great weight balanced so precariously on the cliff edge. Legend has it that it is kept in place by a single hair of the Buddha. It is one of the most religious sites in Myanmar.
Arrive at Kinpun base camp /Golden Rock. 11km uphill climb begins (about 7hrs if we trek) or an hour drive up hill. Get up close with nature and friendly locals along the way.
Again, another 20 minutes trek to reach the Golden Rock..
Check-in at the hotel. Appreciate the amazing sunset and uncover the wonders of Golden Rock.

Day 6: Golden Rock - Bago – Yangon (B/L/D)
After breakfast, check-out from the hotel.
Drive back to Yangon and visit Bago on the way back.
Shwe Maw Daw Pagoda - this pagoda is said to be over 1000 years old and was originally build by the Mon King and it is the tallest pagoda in Burma. It is 15 meters taller than the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon. It is one of Burma’s most sacred sites, because it enshrines several relics of the Buddha. Two huge Chinthe, mythological animals that look like a lion stand guard at the entrance of the temple grounds. Numerous small pagoda’s are placed at the base of the 114 meter tall Shwemawdaw. The pagoda is topped with a diamond studded hti, a top ornament shaped as an umbrella found on most Burmese temples.
ShweThaLyaung Reclining Buddha - built in 994 by the Mon King Mingadeipka& is one of the largest reclining Buddha images in Burma.After the image had fallen into disrepair, it was renovated by King Dhammazedi in the 15th century. The reclining Buddha image is housed in an iron pavilion called tazaung with Italian marble on the floor. On the walls are murals depicting scenes from the Jataka tales, the stories that tell about the previous lives of the Buddha. It was rediscovered by chance in the colonial era when the British built a railway between Yangon and Bago in 1881.
Kanbawzathadi Palace - built by King Bayinnaung (1551-1581 A.D.) the founder of the second Myanmar Empire. The original palace consisted of 76 apartments and halls according to the old drawing record. It was burned down in 1599. Several buildings of the palace have been rebuilt. The Great Audience Hall was the largest building in the palace where the King received his ministers and officials. The hall is also known as the Royal Lion Throne Hall, because it contained the Thihathana Throne or Lion Throne. The Bhammayarthana Throne Hall, also called Bee Throne Hall contained the private quarters for the King, including the Royal bed chamber and living chamber. This very ornate building has multiple roof sections and false floors, and is topped with a Pyatthat, a seven tiered Burmese style roof. Other buildings contained the chambers of members of the Royal family.
KyaikPon four huge sitting Buddhas - built in 1476 by King Dhammazedi, a devout Buddhist and King of the Mon Kingdom of Hanthawaddy (Pegu), this pagoda is known for its four towering images of the Buddha visible from far away. According to local legend, four Mon sisters were involved in the building of the Kyaik Pun Paya. Among them, they pledged never to get married as long as they lived. If one of them was to get married, one of the Buddha statues would collapse. According to the legend, one of the women broke her promise and got married, resulting in the collapse of one of the images, the Kassapa Buddha.
Htauk Kyaunt War Cemetery - 32km from Yangon and was built in 1951 in commemoration of Allied soldiers who died in the Myanmar Campaign during World War II.
